Adrian Langford established his own qualitative research consultancy, Langford Associates, in 1991. He is:

  • A former BMP advertising planning director with nearly 20 years' experience of qualitative research.
  • A full member of the Market Research Society (MRS), Association of Qualitative Research Practitioners (AQRP) and the Account Planning Group (APG).
  • Published in Marketing, Marketing Week, The Guardian and Campaign on marketing and advertising issues.
  • A speaker at conferences and industry training courses on advertising research, and the the theory and practice of qualitative research.

 

How did he end up in research?

  • Has conducted qualitative research since the early 1980s.
  • Background in advertising account planning.
  • Former Planning Director at Boase Massimi Pollitt (BMP), an agency that insisted on planners doing all their own groups.
  • Worked on some of the agency's most famous campaigns.
  • Former Planning Director of DDB Needham's International Division following Omnicom's takeover of BMP, developing global campaigns for Seagram.
  • Worked in account planning at the Simons Palmer agency, before starting his own company.
  • Planning background gives his brand of qualitative research a strongly strategic flavour, and expert knowledge of creative development research.
